UNICEF says gender equality "means that women, men, girls and boys should enjoy the same rights, resources, opportunities and protections. It does not require that girls and boys or women and men, be the same, or that they be treated exactly alike."

The 5050 Protocol that pertains to this website, where (we believe) gender equity (paying for your own beverage) sets the foundation for the possibility of an enduring relationship founded on mutual respect and gender equality which is about 'being equal' but not about being the same - is about having the same rights, responsibilities and opportunities available to everyone regardless of whether born male, female or non-binary.

What we expect from our 5050 cafe partner/supporters

  1. List your cafe by 'Joining as a Cafe' and agree with the 5050 protocol.
  2. List your cafe and agree with the Covid 19 Protocol that pertains to your country.
  3. Place the 5050 logo in an appropriate place on your website with a link back to the 5050cafefriends.com website.
  4. Provide us with a caption about how your cafe is supporting gender equality. 

What you can expect from us as a 5050 cafe supporter/partner 

  1.  The logo/name of your cafe to display on the Homepage of our website. 
  2.   The logo/name of your cafe to link back to your website.
  3.   For the caption (you provide) to appear when your logo/name of your cafe is hovered over on our website.
  4.   Your listing to be visible on our website.

You can partner with us if you support equality. 

What we expect from sport clubs, community centres and other organisations

  1. Agree with the 5050 Protocol.
